基督的勇士，我们的好同工，亲爱的弟兄周再国于5月13日凌晨五点左右蒙召进入天国。他已息了世上的劳苦，在那没有眼泪与痛苦的国度与基督一同坐席。愿神安慰与保守他所爱的陈月珠姊妹，儿子 Wesley，Jeremy 及远方的亲友们。

Thank you, family and friends, for joining us today to celebrate the life of a great man—Donald Chow—husband, father, brother, uncle, friend.

In preparing what I would say today, I began to reminisce about my uncle. Strangely enough, the first word that came to my mind was “Nintendo.” You see my uncle was a “cool” uncle. He drove sporty cars and bought us things that my parents otherwise wouldn’t.

On one occasion, we were in a toy store and my 8^th birthday was coming up. He asked what I wanted for my birthday, and, even though it was a long shot, and I was hesitant to ask, it came out—a Nintendo! Magically, my wish was granted that day.

Uncle Donald was a close part of my life and that of my family. He arrived in the U.S. just a few days after my brother was born and lived with my family for a number of years until he moved on to Birmingham.

My family took countless road trips, every opportunity we could get, to Birmingham and vice versa, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, to name a few. And, over the years, I watched my “cool” uncle become a “loving” husband and ultimately, a “doting” father of two sons. I watched him get married and he was there when it was my turn. And now, Wesley and Jeremy are like my two little brothers.

As I gathered my thoughts for today, I also pondered: how does the perception I have of my uncle compare to that of others? I began to ask around, and in my conversations, I noticed several descriptions that were universally spoken about him, these include:

Generous

Compassionate

Kind

Loving

Patient

Affable

Understanding

Selfless

Positive

At peace

Strong in his Faith

Donald was a special person in many different ways to many people. Even though we now have to let him go, we will always have these words and memories to hold and keep with us. I am very grateful for the time God allowed me to spend with my uncle, a great man.

Uncle Donald, we will miss you, but I know that Dad and Gugu will be happy to see you again, and that you will be happy to finally be united with God, the one to whom your life was fully devoted. Say hi to my dad for me, will ya?
